SCU Softball Closes Out Season At Home Against Portland State

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara softball team will finish up their 2008 season this weekend when they face Portland State in two final PCSC double-headers on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 both beginning at 12 p.m. The Broncos are 9-47 on the season and 5-11 in PCSC play. The Pilots are 26-26 and 9-7 in PCSC play with an outside shot at the conference title. Last Week The Broncos lost a hard fought series Sacramento State this past weekend. In the first double-header on Saturday, Santa Clara lost a pair of one-run games, 3-2 in the first and 5-4 in the second. Freshmen Taking Off The Santa Clara says goodbye to four seniors, three freshmen Broncos have continued to have a strong first season. Amanda Edmonson, Jeanine Ruffoni, and Jackie Morales are all in the top four on the team in batting and actually lead the team in batting for conference play. Edmonson is tied for the team lead in RBI and is third on the team with three homeruns. |
