         <description><![CDATA[The Santa Clara men's water polo team had twelve players recently given All-Academic Awards for 2007. The Broncos also earned the seventh best GPA of all the water polo teams in the nation. Matt Adler led the way with his 3.90 GPA as well as Liam Fitch with a 3.76. Both were given the title of Outstanding.]]></description>

Kelly was named to the 1st Team All-WWPA this year as well for his role as one of the top two-meter defenders in the conference and now in the nation.]]></description>

"I don't want to name one person," he said, "because we have so many guys who are capable of stepping up in any given game." That mentality held true for the Broncos Friday as they defeated Pomona Pitzer 8-4 in the first round of the WWPA Championships. Seven different players scored on the eight goals in the game.]]></description>

Following a 16-11 season in which the Broncos went 11-4 in their conference, Santa Clara earned a birth as the No. 2 seed in the WWPA Championships, the highest in the school's history. The team will face off against Pomona-Pitzer in the first round on Friday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. (MT).]]></description>

For the first time, the alumni game will actually be split up into two games this year. The first game, at 11 a.m. will give the returning alumni a crack at the current team with regular rules and reffing. The second game at 1:15 will pit the players from even numbered graduating years against the odd numbered graduating years.]]></description>
