Santa Clara Men's Tennis Falls to Marquette

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Marquette University, in the first meeting in program history. After struggling in the last few matches, sophomore Jay Wong won at the No. 1 singles position over the Golden Eagles Trent Hagen, 6-4, 6-2, to get the only point of the day for the Broncos. Wong also won his doubles match at the No. 1 spot with partner Kenzo Hirakawa-Wong over Marquette's Brett Binkley and Mark Rutherford, 8-6. The Broncos next match will be in Palm Springs, Calif. where they will face No. 25 University of Washington on Tuesday March 25, at 11:00 a.m. Two days later they will travel to No. 69 UC Santa Barbara to makeup their match against the Gauchos.
