Round 2 Team results Get Acrobat Reader

Honolulu, Hawaii -- The Santa Clara men's golf team played better as a collective unit at yesterday's second round of the Hilo Invitational, but still slid further in the team standings, to 17th at +12. The Broncos shot +4 on the day, improving from the +8 on the first round. Jimmy Cacho posted the best round for the team so far with a two-under 68 to tie for the team lead with Scott Travers at -1.

Travers shot a one-under 69 after his even-par round yesterday. He and Cacho are tied for 22nd going into the final round. Kellen Moss took two strokes off of his round yesterday, posting a two-over 72 to sit at +6 for the tournement. Alex Bon was the lone Bronco not to improve his score from the first round. Bon shot a 75 to go along with his 73 from the first round to end the second day at eight-over par. Shaun Pienkos did significantly better in the second round, shooting a 75 with Bon and is currently at +17.

For the tournament, Stanford sits atop of the leaderboard at -22 and Jamie Lovermark of USC and Jesper Kennegard of Arizona State are tied for the individual lead at nine-under.

The Hilo Invitational will conclude today with the third and final round in the morning.
