Dan Plaine enters his fourth season with the Santa Clara men's crew program. After serving two years as an assistant noive coach, he now holds the position of head novice coach. Plaine works primarily with rowers in their first year of racing and focuses on developing quality rowers for the varsity team. His other duties include boat repair, recruiting and managing team study hall. In addition to his coaching duties, Plaine works as a financial analyst for a construction company. Originally from Colorado, Plaine attended Cherry Creek High School. He rowed for four years at Santa Clara and graduated in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in Finance and a minor in History. In addition to his experience at Santa Clara, Plaine has six years of experience with various other rowing programs, including the Jedi Knights and the Pirates of Lexington. Plaine enjoys spending time with his family, especially his nephew Ryan. He also plays the drums for the band Inkoncievable. |
