The team had six boats make Grand Finals and was only two points away from getting first place in overall points. The team has not had such an impressive showing in years.]]></description>

Along with Sacramento State the regatta included St. Mary's, Humboldt State, Mills and Sonoma State. The two varsity eights showed solid improvement from the previous week as they were able to close the gap on Sacramento State who took first place in both the Varsity 8 and the Second Varsity 8.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Santa Clara University has been well represented at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as five current and former Bronco student-athletes and one coach have made an impact for the United States at the event. Sophomore Stephen McCarthy and incoming freshmen Jalil Anibaba and Kevin Klasila are all members of the U.S. soccer team that has gone 1-1 so far. Broncos assistant men's soccer coach Eric Yamamoto is serving as an assistant coach for the U.S. at the tournament. Sophomore Tommy Medica has helped the Americans go unbeaten through four games in baseball, while former Bronco rower Reilly Dampeer '00 earned a silver medal in the quadruple sculls.]]></description>

Senior Carl Bacon and junior Jeff Lombard (baseball), juniors Hilaire Fouts and Corey Utsurogi (women's golf), seniors Jan Macek and Bobby Rasmussen (men's tennis), senior Kim Daniel (women's tennis) and senior Katie Fahrer (women's crew) all earned spots on the team. For the 2006-07 academic year, 22 Broncos earned WCC All-Academic honors in 13 WCC-sponsored sports.]]></description>
