Bronco Bench Young Alumni Promotion: Record Sales, More Tickets Issued!

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Originally advertised as the hottest ticket promotion in college basketball, the SCU Young Alumni Ticket Package has certainly lived-up to its name; selling out just 3 weeks after it was publicly announced!

Due to the overwhelming popularity of this promotion, SCU's Athletic Department has agreed to release another 100 tickets exclusively for the Bronco Bench Foundation's Young Alumni Ticket Promotion.

Athletic Director Dan Coonan said, ""We love the fact that Santa Clara's young alumni have jumped on this promotion so quickly. Just like the students, the band and the spirit groups, having a strong presence of young alumni markedly improves the atmosphere for everyone, and this will really help keep those recent graduates connected with the University and the Athletics program."

Bronco Bench Foundation Director of Development, Steve O'Brien, had this to say, "You're in college for 4 years, but you're a Bronco for life! We wanted to give SCU's young alumni a compelling reason to stay connected with Santa Clara. By working with the Ruff Riders, Bronco Bench provides a home for all alumni who want to continue supporting Santa Clara athletics."

Perhaps what's most impressive about this promotion is that it's not just people within the athletic department who are talking about it. When asked what he thought about the Ruff Riders and the Bronco Bench Foundation teaming-up for this promotion, former Ruff Rider Co-President, Ross Nelson '06, said, "I think this is an excellent idea! It's awesome to see the Bronco Bench Foundation working with the Ruff Riders to provide such a great incentive for young alumni like myself to come back to campus. I mean, the game is 4 months away and I'm already looking forward to it! By working with the Ruff Riders on this promotion, current students are definitely going to see the benefits of joining Bronco Bench when they graduate."

For just $35, young alumni (Classes 2003-2007) will receive:

  • 1 General Admission ticket to Santa Clara vs. Gonzaga at The Leavey Center (currently scheduled for 4pm on Saturday, February 2, 2008)
  • Admission to a special hospitality event prior to the SCU vs. Gonzaga game, generally limited to Bronco Bench members.
  • 1 Commemorative "Beat Gonzaga!" t-shirt.
  • VIP access to all-other Bronco Bench Foundation pre-game receptions (with purchase of a corresponding game ticket).
  • 1 Subscription to Bronco Sports Magazine for the 2007-2008 season.
